If stranded with only ONE Christmas cookie recipe....which would it be?

Imagine this: You're stranded--not necessarily on a desert island--I'm not that cliche. So, let's say you're stranded, perhaps a ranging blizzard has cut you off from all civilization from now until the New Year. You were fortuitous, though, and you thought ahead and bought the ingredients for ONE kind of Christmas cookie. Which Christmas cookie would it be?

Please post your comment and recipes if you want.

Then I'll share my ONE cookie recipe. The recipe that is the Christmas cookie of all cookies.

I'm going to have to be totally boring and go with good old chocolate chip (especially the New York Times version), even though that's not really a Christmas cookie. Gary votes for the candy cane cookie, which is quite a bit more Christmasy (just Google "candy cane cookie"). I've never actually made them before though, so I can't attest to their deliciousness. I know most recipes call for almond extract which I can't stand, so I would probably substitute peppermint extract (seems more fitting anyway).

OREO TRUFFLES. ENOUGH SAID.

The ultimate Christmas cookie recipe would have to be the sugar cookies with the butter and oil and cream of tarter. Those are thee best cookies. Especially with the butter cream frosting. Holly is close with the Oreo Truffles but one can over eat and burn out on those. I can't wait to see what your cookie recipe will be. Mom

It's a tie between my mom's lemony/vanilla-y sugar cookies and her chocolate and peanut butter bon bons (which, I know, aren't cookies, but are so freaking good they should count for everything). I'm excited for this cookie recipe! Lay it on us!

When will this cookie be posted? I'm tired of checking every day.

Pumpkin cookies can still be constituted as a Christmas cookies, right? I can't live without my pumpkin cookies.

And BTW, I made marshmallows the other day. Thanks for the inspiration. :)

I only have 2 things left to bake for Christmas. Looks like this cookie is not going to make the list because it's taken so long!
